Siberian Ginseng Root Extract - Siberian Ginseng Root is a natural and potent adaptogen. Adaptogens support health through a variety of nonspecific effects, which neutralize various environmental and physical stressors while remaining relatively safe and free of side effects, primarily by reducing chemical/biological stress.

Bilberry Extract -   Bilberry extract has been shown to strengthen blood vessels in the eye and restore structure/function to damaged retinas. They are full of anthocyanosides, and is widely believed to improve vision handicaps in low light, decreasing vascular permeability and capillary fragility, though more research is still needed. Research also suggests that bilberry extract could have protective benefits for ocular health.

Green Tea Extract -  Green tea contains catechins which belong to the family of antioxidants that includes vitamin C, vitamin E, lutein, and zeaxanthin. They help fortify the eyes from oxidative damage. Scientists involved in the study found evidence that catechins can pass from the digestive tract of rodents to the tissues of their eyes and reduce oxidative stress for up to 20 hours after ingestion.

Aloe Vera Extract - Aloe vera is considered to be the most biologically active of the Aloe species; astonishingly, more than 75 potentially active components have been identified in the plant, including vitamins, minerals, saccharides, amino acids, anthraquinones, enzymes, lignin, saponins and salicylic acids. Aloe vera provides an amazing number of vitamins and minerals that also maintain regular ocular function.

Beta Carotene - Beta-carotene and other antioxidants may help delay the progression of age-related macular degeneration. Antioxidants can sometimes be effective in maintaining ocular function because they can help prevent oxidative stress, which plays a significant role in the degeneration of cells and nerves in the retina/macula.

Lutein - Lutein and its relative zeaxanthin are pigments called carotenoids. They are related to other carotenoids, such as beta-carotene and lycopene. When our pets eat foods high in lutein or take it in supplement form, it’s believed to be pretty easily transported around the body, especially to the parts of the eyes called the macula and the lens. In fact, there are more than 600 different types of carotenoids found in nature, but only about 20 make their way into the eyes. Of those 20, zeaxanthin and lutein (both in this product!) are the only two that are deposited in high quantities into the macular portion of the eyes. It helps the eyes in three ways by 1) acting as a powerful antioxidant  2) fortifying healthy cells while preventing the growth of malignant ones, and 3) making sure the lens of the eye remains clear and free from cloudiness that could be indicative of cataracts, and the major reason it becomes cloudy in the first place is due to oxidation.

Zeaxanthin - A cousin of lutein, zeaxanthin maintains the eye’s healthy tissue, lens and macula, which when disrupted blurs vision and causes glare, light sensitivity or disorders like cataracts.

Leucine -  Leucine is a branched chain amino acid typically utilized for its role in building muscle. However, recent research has suggested how leucine can potentially attenuate or reduce photoreceptor cell death morphologically and functionally, even when administered at later stages. Leucine helps  maintain ATP levels, which in turn, helps maintain healthy eye function.

Taurine -  Taurine is the most plentiful amino acid in the retina of the eye and ensures healthy cell function, particularly the retinal ganglion cell (RGC).

Biotin - Biotin benefits include helping the growth and maintenance of bodily tissues, including to help repair and build muscles. When tissue or muscle is broken down, B vitamins like vitamin B7 biotin work to build back the strength of muscle and tissue that leads to growth. Biotin also helps fortify the myelin sheathe of nerve endings found in the eyes.

Calcium Ascorbate - Calcium ascorbate, also known as vitamin C, is extremely beneficial to the blood vessels located in the eyes.

Selenium Protein Complex - Selenium is a trace mineral that is known for its strong antioxidant properties. Selenium helps the body absorb vitamin E, which is essential for healthy vision. Vitamin E reduces the risk of age-related eye health issues.

Vitamin-Enriched Wheat - A gentle but effective bio-stimulator; contains an optimal formulation of fibers, minerals, and vitamins such as phosphorus, zinc, iron, potassium, B-vitamins, and folate.
